It might be worth mass updating football_uniform to american_football_uniform first (though someone needs to comb through for any soccer_uniform beforehand).
Then, directly alias football_uniform to football_(disambiguation) and give the alternatives there. Don't need multiple disambiguation pages.

In addition, there is also multiple parts of the american_football_uniform, including football_helmet, shoulder_pads, etc.
Moreover, there is also football_player that should get the same treatment.

I mean, not necessarily, but it's probably better than lumping them all into football_disambiguation

We could lump all the individual articles of clothing (e.g. football_pants) into football_uniform_(disambiguation) for example.
Honestly, I don't think we need individual tags for legwear. *_uniform + legwear should be enough.
Maybe the same for jersey, though fans often wear jerseys so idk if lumping that under *_uniform is the best practice

Stop making multiple BURs of the same thing. Just edit your first BUR or stick with it.

My justification for lumping everything into football_(disambiguation) is because the sport itself and the ball has already been aliased to it.
In addition, there is no precedent to having subcategories of disambiguation tags. It's just creating a big mess that a single tag could easily fix.

It's not the same thing. Individual disamb. vs more generic disamb.. To see what others prefer.

People can remove and re-cast their votes. So you can still see what people prefer when you edit a BUR.
Also I think aliasing all of them to football_(disambiguation) is the best.
